My History
I started my passion for furniture design when I was undertaking GCSE Design and Technologies and GCSE Graphic Products, through these two courses; I became inspired by the ways in which the innovative design process took from 2D to 3D Products, always wanting to further my knowledge into machinery such as; Laser Cutting & 3D Printing, alongside Hand-Made modelling through the use of cardboard and paper in the early stages. When I developed the knowledge to use laser plywood to create more structurally stable constructions development of my GCSE Project a "Multi-functional Storage Unit", which was entered into a national competition "The Young Furniture Makers Exhibition". I was able to exhibit my work in 2017 and meet some extraordinary students and masters of the foundation.
From this I progressed into A-Level in Product Design (with Business Studies and Computer Science). The next stages of my development of skills and techniques also so me take into consideration new ways of research methods such as field trips to London and other design businesses to see first hand how the process of the industry works. This is when the renewable materials was first introduced to me, which led to my creation of the "Renewable Retro Light" Project (AS-Level). Next stage of my A-Level project referencing my knowledge of renewables and storage solution, interpreting how students are struggling with the university accomodation not being homely, which lead to the "Multifunctional Storage Student Box". After that I decided to pursue a career path into design permanently. I accomplished undertaking an Undergraduate Degree in Furniture Design, which was awarded a 1st Class Honours. Currently studying a Masters Level at York St John University studying MSc Product Design. Allowing me to have increased knowledge and professional standards into industry design practices.
