Sam Homer has visited his old school to give a brief lesson on the practice of Woodturning.

"It was a privilege to be back at now rebranded Bedford Greenacre School, where I gave an brief lesson on the creative abilities used through woodturning. When designing in academia it is about showcasing your breadth and depth of knowledge into current manufacturing technique as well as the traditional techniques influencing a more creative aspect on the student." - Sam Homer

The lesson was exclusively given to the AS/A-Level Students within Bedford Greenacres's Sixth Form classes.

The Outcome:

As the current school system are seeing the decline in more traditional practices of the students ability it has been pushed towards a more Computer Aided Design process which does have the environmental bonuses attributed to the overall effectiveness and waste management of our current economy, it was an uplifting discovery that students still want to learn about the heritage and traditional techniques to the design process.
